Disneyland 2008

So we went to Disneyland for our 2nd time with Alden this year. Last year he was obsessed with Ariel and really wanted to ask her to marry him and this year we found where she was sitting. So he asked her to marry him and she was a bit taken aback -- what about Prince Philip? she asked. Alden who was excited and exhausted didn't really notice but Ariel concluded that since Prince Philip wasn't there she could marry Alden. She was also very curious about his new cheetah, Dooms, who we got on this trip.

I'm not sure if it's too late for new year's resolutions but I will once again try the blog and see how well I can keep it up. Alden is 3 1/2 now, 40" tall (he just grew an INCH in the past 2 months, incredible). He's thriving and keeping us on our toes.

We keep a magazine rack next to the potty full of mags for Dad and kids books for Alden. Well, Alden is getting a serious start at a young age, we did NOT set up for this photo!

So tonight we harvested our massively laden apricot tree. Might even have double digits this year ... doubtful, though. Anyhow, Don was up in the tree picking apricots and Alden shouts out "Dada! Come down immediately!" ... guess we know who is in charge here ...

Anyhow ... exhaustion setting in, after all it's 9 pm ...

the Very First Post

Well, so, here you have it. Turns out I am too lazy, or busy, to continue with the email updates. Or maybe it's just that our kid is 2 and keeps us running. Anyhow, I thought I'd try out this blogger thing ... hopefully it'll be easier to write little updates and add photos as time flies by.

What is Alden doing now? pretty much everything. He talks, sings, dances ... makes stuff up. Today he and I were talking in a make believe language. He can count to 9 ... he can sing most of the alphabet song ... he is tireless, stubborn and strong.
